What is a volume discount?

A volume discount lowers the price of each item as the customer buys more of them: say 5% off at three, 10% off at six. Merchants also call it quantity breaks, bulk pricing or tiered pricing. It lifts average order value and moves stock faster, without marking down single-item orders.

Where Shopify's built-in discounts fall short

Each Shopify discount takes one minimum quantity, so a three-tier offer means three separate discounts to build, schedule and keep in sync. Shopify's own quantity price breaks exist, but only in B2B catalogs for company customers. And a native discount can take a percentage or an amount off, but it can't set a fixed price per item.

How volume discounts work in Nex Discount

  1. Choose the products

Pick products, collections or tags, and leave out anything that shouldn't count toward a tier.

  2. Set your tiers

Add each quantity break and one reward for the whole ladder: % off, $ off or a fixed price per item.

  3. Customers save at checkout

The highest tier the cart reaches applies to every qualifying item. Tiers never add up.
